2026 NRLCA keynote speaker - John Adams
John Adams, West Virginia, was re-elected Director of Labor Relations of the National Rural Letter Carriers' Association at the 119th National Convention in Orlando, FL on August 22, 2025. John was first elected to the National Board as Executive Committeeman at the 116th National Convention held in Orlando, FL in 2022.
Immediately after high school, John enrolled at Glenville State College seeking a degree in mathematics education with the hopes of becoming a high school math teacher. Shortly after that, he also enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve and served in that capacity for 7 years. John began his postal career in 1997 as a Designation 78 Rural Carrier Associate in Bridgeport, West Virginia and became a regular carrier in the fall of 2004. He currently is assigned to Route 34, which is 29 miles long and has 734 boxes.
During his career, John has represented the Rural Craft as a Local and Area Steward, Part-time Assistant District Representative, Full-time Assistant District Representative and has served as District Representative in both the former Appalachian District as well as the KY-WV District. During his time at the Postal Service, John was elected to the West Virginia State Board as an Executive Committeeman and served as an academy instructor for 8 years. He was also assigned to the National Constitution Committee and served on the Appeals Commission.
John has the full support of his family. John and his lovely wife Stephanie have been happily married for 22 years and have 4 wonderful children: Christian, Payton, Mary Ellen and Lena. Christian, Payton and Mary Ellen are in college back in West Virginia and Lena is doing her best to meet new friends in Virginia.
